Peter Asplund
Peter Asplund was elected to the board of Ung Cancer at the organization's 2026 annual general meeting. He has extensive experience in healthcare and life sciences, with a focus on cancer care, drug development, medical technology, and clinical trials. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in both the public sector and the private sector, nationally and internationally.
Peter describes himself as honored and delighted by the trust placed in him to contribute to the Ung Cancer board. He highlights that young adults with cancer and their loved ones are a group with special needs that often falls through the cracks in healthcare and social systems, and hopes that his experience from healthcare, the life science industry, and the public sector can strengthen the organization's voice and its ability to influence the conditions facing young adults.
– I am both honored and delighted by the trust placed in me to contribute to the board of Ung Cancer. Ung Cancer does important work for young adults with cancer and their loved ones – a group with major, and special, needs that, despite the best intentions, tend to fall through the cracks in both healthcare and other social systems. I hope my experience from healthcare, the life science industry, and the public sector can help further strengthen the organization's voice and its ability to influence the conditions facing young adults. I look forward to working together with the board, the secretariat, and all the committed members to help create better conditions for young people living with, surviving, or close to cancer, says Peter Asplund.
