Fuck Cancer encapsulates all the emotions and thoughts that come with a cancer diagnosis. It is entirely up to each individual whether they want to use the expression exactly as it is, and up to each individual to fill it with meaning. For some, the expression symbolizes the fire to fight and perseverance; for others, it represents grief and anger; for others still, something else.
Since 2012, Fuck Cancer and the Fuck Cancer logo have been trademarked. Ung Cancer owns the rights to use the expression “Fuck Cancer” both in print and as the name of events.
For us and many others, Fuck Cancer is something to rally around, an expression we can turn to when it is difficult to find the words. We do not use the expression to be aggressive or to imply anything sexual, but to show that cancer has no place here.
