You should never take your life – mental (in)health
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with bone marrow involvement, that was my cancer diagnosis. The diagnosis I received when I was 13 years old. Fortunately, I knew very little about what a cancer diagnosis actually meant.
Over the last 10 years, I have learned that my cancer diagnosis would consist of three parts
The treatment – This life-saving yet devastating poison.
The indifference – The one that made me fall asleep at night. "Tomorrow I might be dead. Good."
The depression – I am finished with treatment. I survived. But what was left of me, what was left of Alfons?
My name is Alfons Peterson, I am 23 years old, and I am NOT grateful that I got cancer. However, I know what people need. I know what the thousands of people who are currently depressed need.
For how can you dare to ask your friend, your partner, or your child: "How are you, really?".

Quote from someone who has listened to Alfons' lecture:
I have thought a lot about your words and your story during this past day. I also think about your ability to express yourself, your rich language and your honest yet constructive way of telling your story, what qualities!
