My name is Mimmi and I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 22 weeks pregnant. In July 2024, I started to notice changes in my right nipple. I thought this had to do with the pregnancy, so I wasn't worried at all and waited until my next appointment with the midwife to talk to her. She referred me to the GP who in turn wrote a referral for an ultrasound. Had it not been for the fact that I was pregnant we would have also done a mammogram, but it turned out that an ultrasound was sufficient.
I am a 28-year-old woman who has always had a lot going on. I have always been driven, both among friends and at work, and I was often the one who organized fun activities and made sure things got done. For the first time in a long time, I had also settled down a bit in life. I loved my life, my job, my relationships, and everything I had built around me. Young Cancer has meant an incredible amount!!! Met others in similar situations, connected with amazing people during camps and training sessions, and got to give lectures and influence healthcare professionals, among others. I found the courage to spread the word about what I have been through.
