My name is Axel Jisborg Hultgren and in May 2023 I was told that I had testicular cancer. 23 years old. That summer I received intensive treatment which meant an incredibly difficult period in my life. Since then I have made the difficult effort to recover from the treatment and the illness.

What I want to tell others about is what it is like to be a young adult with cancer

What I want to and can enlighten others about is what it is like to be a young adult with cancer: the time before, during, and after treatment. That when treatment is over, you stand between a life in the hospital and a life in the world outside. What I want to emphasize is that we are all whole people: we are not just patients or, for that matter, just healthcare professionals. I want to provide a holistic perspective and talk about all aspects of life.
